Counselling generally deals with a particular life problem. Difficult challenges or transitional anxieties and concerns can overwhelm all of us at certain times in our lives. These can range from frequently encountered problems “I’m struggling to communicate with my teenage daughter”, to critical life events such as bereavement and crisis situations “I am in the middle of a divorce and can’t think straight”. Counselling can help find strategies to cope with or solve these difficult situations through insightful exchange.
Typically, the number of counselling sessions is 6 to 12, although some clients choose to continue regular, but less frequent contact to maintain the positive benefits achieved.
