Therapy

I work with a wide range of problems including: anxiety, panic attacks, depression, stress-related illness, post-traumatic stress, hyperventilation, insomnia and adults with a history of childhood neglect or abuse.

I devote my first meeting to obtaining the client’s story, identifying the presenting problem and clarifying the goals of therapy. At that time I encourage my clients to raise any questions, and an overall brief plan of the structure of therapy is discussed.

Subsequent sessions may use a combination of different therapeutic approaches to address emotions, thoughts, behavior and lifestyle, according to each person’s needs.

The number of sessions can vary, with some clients coming for relatively short term therapy (6 – 8 sessions), while others seek more ongoing psychological work.
